Birth details are personal. Your Sky Atlas keeps the calculation flow simple and does not require an account.
What Stays in Your Browser
Entered dates, times, places, optional names, and settings are stored in this tab’s sessionStorage so they can follow you between calculators during the session. Person 1 and Person 2 are stored separately. “Clear Birth Details” removes that person’s session entry. Closing the tab normally ends the session, but a browser’s restore-session feature may restore it; use the clear control on a shared device.
The theme preference alone is saved in localStorage. Birth details are not saved in localStorage or placed in URLs. Generated results live in page memory until you leave or clear the page.
What the Server Processes
Calculating sends the entered details to this site’s server through a POST request. Place search sends the search text to the same server and searches a local GeoNames dataset. There is no third-party geocoding request, analytics integration, advertising tracker, or external calculation API in the application.
The app does not write birth details to a database or application logs. Calculation and place-search responses use no-store headers. The hosting provider may retain ordinary infrastructure access logs such as IP address, request time, and requested path; consult the provider’s policy for retention. Birth details stay out of requested URLs.
Downloads and Printing
SVG downloads are generated in your browser and can contain names, dates, and chart information. Printed or saved PDF reports can contain the same personal details. Store and share them with care.
